Charleston Guns to Garden on the Radio!

This morning we had the pleasure of appearing on the 580 Live! radio show hosted by Dave Allen on the WCHS 580 on the WVRCMedia network. I joined my fellow Charleston Guns 2 Garden organizers, Sarah Gottlieb and Dina Mohler, for a conversation with Dave about the upcoming Guns 2 Garden Safe Surrender Event that will take place on May 3rd, 2025 at St. Mark’s UMC, 900 Washington St., E., Charleston, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Our Safe Surrender Event enables individuals, who have a firearm(s) that they no longer want to own, to donate those guns which are then dismantled onsite and cut up using chop saws “releasing” the metal and wood components from a “life as a gun.” Those components are then taken by our partner organization, RAWTools-South, to their shop in Asheville, North Carolina where the use the metal and wood to craft garden tools, jewelry, and works of art.

We could surely use you help in the form of a donation to help us pay for the equipment and services provided by RAWTools-South and for the grocery gift cards from Kroger and Walmart that individuals who surrender a firearm can have as a token of our appreciation.
